Just a silly question, but when it came to the monster selections for characters, how did you come to the consensus of which ones to use? And were there some that you really wanted to make date-able characters but had to end up putting on the cutting room floor?

We chose the roster waaaaay back, I would say around 2020-2021 and was working up in terms of story, referencing, and gameplay for the past 2 years. And since it was brainstormed during pandemic as well, we had to push it back until last year when we had enough time to finally start working on it.
Because of that time frame, and the story already halfway written, adding the monsters from Rise would be a bit hard to fit with the situation we already built up since it was a bit late. In addition to that, we decided to stick with MH World favorites since it is what made MH bigger now, and more would recognize the monsters. (Aside from Koku. That's just my bias...).
There were a few that we were thinking of adding such as the Magnamalo, Barioth, Congalala, even Kut-Ku but that might be something we decide in the future when the game is finished. I really wanted to include Zamtrios but I cannot seem to make it fit right with the vision we have of the village.
You can expect at least 2 endings for each dateable character, with the usual good and bad ending but I cannot say more than that to avoid any spoilers. This is still technically a game so we need to add some sort of gameplay risk in the form of a bad ending (or anything similar), akin to most dating simulators.

They happen to stumble upon the village and attack, burning houses to the ground, destroying crops, and slaying true wyverians left and right. The main group (protagonist, Leo, Runan, Jin, Koku, Joseph, Ridge, and Elder) attempt to evacuate as many as they can. They then try to flee the village themselves but are stopped by the armada of hunters. Gerald attempts to hold them off, urging the group to go on without him. As the group reluctantly flees, Jin stops momentarily and looks back in horror, seeing Gerald's brutalized body falling down, dead. As more hunters storm the area, the group retreats into the forest.

We will be adding more characters as the story progress, such route specific characters, story relevant characters, and other instances. However, we don't plan on adding any new date-able characters during development. Adding more date-ables at the current stage might be too much for both of us right now since we want to make sure everyone has a fun reading experience!
But that doesn't mean we are not close minded to suggestions/thoughts. We do take into account everyone's comments here to have inspiration and maybe squeeze in a few things if it feels right to the main story.

I've been enjoying reading the story so far but the MC stutters and apologizes too often, and is also easily flustered. I'd prefer the love interests to have these traits instead. I'd say, when the MC is his own character and isn't supposed to reflect what the reader is like, he should have a fixed canon name
This is actually an interesting topic! I understand that you would want to give the Scriviner an official name, but not giving him one, just like the Elder and the Housekeeper, is an homage to older Monster Hunter game rules where a lot of characters are just labeled and defined, rather than named. It's only recently in Monster Hunter Rise where characters are actually named. This is the reason why the Scriviner does not canonically have a name.

I can be a bit selective but not only is this game looking really awesome so far, but it ticks all my personal boxes! I'm a dev too and I have noticed all the little flourishes: the meal transition, day transition, and even pausing the music to let a jingle play? (I had to have my partner help me with figuring that out in Renpy!) The snort clouds, all the effects—they're important and I notice them. I am so excited for the next update. ♥ Awesome job!!

I was just talking with a friend about wanting a Monster Hunter scalie VN earlier today funnily enough, before I discovered this... I love Runan so much so much
You get two points of liking, one if you choose the option of "let it be" and the next one you get it by asking to go to his house after that Day when you go to the market where runan is you'll find him speaking to runan you'll have to choose to stay with Jin in a hangout then rest is history.
i love this vn I am fairly new but this vn has to e in my top 10 all ready after only one route love it keep the great work up and don't stop [but make so your not working to much]
just played through joseph's route and it was so much fun!! looking forward to playing everybody else's and to seeing what happens in future updates :D
We dont have any planned release date for the next update since our schedules are not free enough to commit to a specific date. However, we will try to release at least one more update before the end of the year.
As of now, we don't really have any plans just yet since we might have problems maintaining and checking on the server due to busy schedules (Since we are only two people working on the game.). We are not sure when we will be able to organize one, but we are heavily considering one in the future.
Okay. If its hard to do for you to do you can hire someone as a volunteer on a furry paradise discord server (or, well, just ask mods of this server to create a dedicated channel for your vn)

To avoid spoilers, all I can say is that they have a canon orientation but you will have a choice to top or bottom in sex scenes and for each character.

The idea isn't complete yet, but so far, the idea is that the hunters guild go out looking for the scrivener, since they've been gone for weeks now. Mmm,excuse me but you can choose between topping or bottoming for each character when we get to the sex scenes?
for example: Leo be only top or him been both top and bottom.
