My god this novel is extremely well done, as someone who loves the monster hunter series i was very surprised with all the details put in, the characters are very charismatic and the story is very interesting, keep up the excellent work.
I found a bug in the game. On day 5 if you go to joseph after you become closer there's no more dialogue. you can skip but still nothing. actually, I did a different rout and on day 6 where there's an argument it happens again.
Thanks for letting us know about this! We are still working on debugging this one, but I haven't been able to figure out what is causing the bug specifically (I do know its after some notifications) but the best way to deal with this is to just reset the game and it should be able to fix it. It might be space issue but I will need to look more into it. Thank you as well for checking out what we have so far!

This game is a masterpiece. I saw the characters and thought either Joseph or Leo would be my choice, but I was surprised to find that Jin and Ridge have a lot of depth. This is a good sign for future updates. Although, I have a question, will the game end at week 2? Because that is what the protagonist said, but we already hit week 1. TL;DR This game is amazing, but will it be a short VN?

I didn't even recognize that this had anything to do with Monster Hunter until I saw the berry icon and thought the art looks familiar and then it all clicked into place. I haven't played MH since generations.
As with the initial build, this update was a fantastic read. I'm loving the art, writing, and worldbuilding. I love reading about something and then remembering my experience with the Monster Hunter games. I also really freaking love the characters. They are all so well done!
The only feedback I really have for this build has to do with writing. I noticed a fair amount of grammatical errors in this build. They did not take away from my enjoyment, but I found myself needing to reread lines every so often to fully understand them. If you ever need a proofreader or beta tester, let me know :3 I love editing writing and would be more than happy to volunteer my time for such an enjoyable story! Might I suggest creating an indication as to what new information is added to the log book and notes? Perhaps little icons to show what's unread? I only go through the logbook 1nce I've completed the entire update, and without knowing what's new, I end up reading everything "n_n

I like the latest update quite a lot but I'm sad to say that it full of bugs. I guess you rushed some of the technical part since a lot of the dialogue lines give a Ren'Py error "Couldn't load this and that", and I've encountered so much of those I honestly lost count, so heads up (even though both the quality and quantity of new stuff are still worth the wait)

Edit: Now that I think about it the issue migt have been with me and the fact I decided to somehow install both versions at once, so now they conflcit with each other from time to time. Sorry for distrubing in that case :-(
That might be the case since I did try to move some objects to be more efficient in this version. I suggest deleting both versions and downloading the most recent one. Ren'py does save the game even though the game is gone since it is in the system. But I will be looking into it regardless! Thanks!
I am sorry to say but the Elder will not have his own route as he has his own role as the Scriviner's Guardian as you can say. Because of this, he will not have his own independent main story.
As for the tails, it is actually explained in one of the dictionary logs. True Wyverians are normal wyverians with features of the Monster they resemble. So even if they look like them, they are not "Anthropomorphic Monsters". Giving them a tail would complicate a lot of the story elements. Surprisingly...

Wouldn't a guardian still make sense for a route? There are Plenty of stories where the protector/bodyguard/guardian falls in love with the protagonist. wouldn't the elder still make sense
The entire story of the game has already been written out. Or at least been outlined. Making the Elder into a route will actually affect the overall outline. Yes, you are right, there are cases where the guardian is a potential option. However, his role is too specific to be given a route on its own.
This game is awesome, I like how everyone is is a mystery 😁😁💕. I hope that one day, that I can play the real game the demo was perfect I'm so inspired to keep playing it.
After playing this game (and getting kinda tired from aknowledging myself with megaten series) i got seriously interested in MH, but when i asked some of my mh-playing friends how i should get myself aknowledged with it, opinions were direct opposites of each other. One of them advised me to skip old-gens and get myself mhr, while the other one advised to play at least one game from each generation. So i hoped the root of my interest would also be my tiebreaker. Could you tell me your opinions, please? :s
Monster hunter is a large series. If anything, best game to welcome new players would be Monster Hunter World, since it is meant to be welcoming newer players. Monster hunter rise too but the controls might be too complicated for newcomers.
You dont really need to play the old gen since they are there as fun games with nostalgia like pokemon. And you dont need to know anything about the old gen since every new game is a new story, new hunter, and a new set of monsters with the occasional returning ones.
And dont worry too much about others opinions on games per generation. Just have fun with the new ones since that is how games are suppose to be. :)
Oh don't worry about the comparison. What I am saying is that whenever you start a monster hunter game, its always a new experience. And I am not saying skipping is bad. Always start with one thing, then if you like it, you can play the previous ones too.
Though I do warn you, all monster hunter games are at least about 100 hours worth of gameplay. That's why I don't recommend playing older games to beginners or new to the franchise. But regardless, I hope you enjoy your time playing Monster Hunter :D

Can't help but think how nice it'd be if other renpy vn devs would read through it and remember how attention to details looks like (of course, i'd never blame them if it's simply too much work to be done, gamedev and all that). You see, i like to read through renpy-made vn at ~20% text speed, it's just comfortable, but yawning and noises like that are really slow to appear on screen, so i'd suggest to replace it with something like "ya-a-a-a-a-a-awn" and "m-m-m-m-f" respectively, so it looks better with slower speed.
Oh, i remembered another thing. Since it's a fangame, it can't be sold, but did you know that optional itch.io payment counts as purchase of the game? Because if i recall correctly, if you download game for free, you do not become an owner of it and you will have to buy game, if it ever stops being free. But if you chose optional payment, you will become owner of the game and will be able to download the content you paid for anytime. Is there no problems with that?

As for your concerns about the payment, it is labeled as donation from the back end. We are not selling this game and we are not asking anyone to buy this game at all. It is just that the system itch uses to collect donations is the same as collecting payments.
Our game will always be free and we will never charge anyone to play the game as it is not actually our concept (it is on Capcom). We kept the donation option on since we are curious if people will actually donate since we did not really have high hopes at first. People can always skip the payment anytime and just proceed to download. If it ever does become an issue in the future with other players, we can remove the donation option here on itch and have it somewhere else.
Some monsters in the MH Universe do have tails, but in my view, giving them one might be a bit too much and close to what we are trying to achieve in terms of writing. Maybe in the future, depending on what happens. Thank you still for trying it out!
This might be a bit of spoilery question but... will the protagonist part ways with his love interest in the end of the story? I just really hate parting endings, yet judging by a game description he had left the village while leaving his journal behind (and his husbando as well, it seems...)
You are quite correct on revealing anything for the story might be spoilery. The story has already been written down so to avoid anything bad, I'll just say.... depends on your choices ;)
Is there any way to choose to go with joseph on day 4, or is that not an option as i cant seem to find it. enjoying this so far looking forward to more :)

I can't believe i was actually replaying v 0.01 all the time until 0.02 came out. Guess that's another addiction for me.

The whole story is pretty wholesome so far and I love all the characters (too bad I couldn't hang out with Joseph on day 4)
